There is nothing worse for a brand than to be the victim of an uncontrollable incident. Snapdeal has faced a major backlash after the Aamir Khan controversy, and it will take major efforts to first win back the trust of individuals, and then to get back to business as usual, whether its app installs or selling on the portal.
We floated the captioned question on our facebook group and digital marketers have a plethora of suggestions for Snapdeal. While some feel they should lay low, others think they should come up with a strong campaign, some feel they should part ways with Aamir, others think they should stand by him.
Amidst all this, Snapdeal has also issued an official clarification on their blog and are also running a campaign on twitter #SnapdealforIndia. The blog is a good step forward, but the twitter hashtag seems fabricated and many tweets with the same content can be seen floating around. Good to see them react, but hope they are not reacting in a flutter.
